Here at Zazu Tanzania Safaris, we have designed some of the best Tanzania budget safari packages, as we don’t try to just push you toward the most profitable safari for our own advantage. We work with our clients to ensure that they enjoy and have an unforgettable (and affordable) safari experience.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara Park – 130 km / 2 hrs
After your breakfast, leave around 08.30 and drive from Arusha with your packed lunch to Lake Manyara for game viewing. The great thing is no matter you are doing a luxury safari or Tanzania budget safari tour, you will still be in the same park and seeing the animals like everyone else.
At the end of your game drives in the evening drive to your campsite for Dinner and overnight at Panorama Campsite.
About Lake Manyara National Park:
A major attraction of the Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will spot them. However, there are countless other things to see: elephants, hippos, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, baboons, and plains animals as well as huge variety of bird-life, both resident and migratory.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park 190 km / 3.5 – 4 Hrs
Shortly after breakfast drive from Lake Manyara with game en-route to the great Serengeti Plains via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A Tanzania budget safari gives you a chance to camp inside the parks, and get the real experience of African nature.
Today you will enjoy a half day game drive in the Serengeti which starts right away when you check-in the Naabi gate (Serengeti gate). Later on, in the afternoon drive to Nyani Campsite for dinner and overnight (in the central Serengeti).
About Serengeti Endless Plains: The Serengeti National Park, covering 14,763 square kilometers, is one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries. One of the most breathtaking events in the animal kingdom, the migration of thousands of wildebeest, takes place here every year.
The Serengeti, 320 kilometers from Arusha, was gazetted in 1951. It was accepted by the World Heritage Convention as a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve in 1981.
Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro/Olduvai.
Enjoy your breakfast at the campsite, thereafter leave with lunchboxes on a game en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
It is your option whether you pass via Olduvai Gorge (a historical site whereby the early man lived) . Other option will be visiting a Masai Boma.
Today upon your arrival in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoy your dinner & overnight at Simba Campsite on the crater rim.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, descend into the crater for a tour around the unbroken caldera that encloses the wildlife. Lunch at Ngorongoro crater picnic site near Lerai Forest or hippo pool. After lunch continue with a game drive on your way out of the crater and back to Arusha.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area: covers 2,286 sq km and encompasses the volcanic area around the Ngorongoro Crater – including the still active volcano of Oldonyo Lengai and the famous Olduvai Gorge.
Its centerpiece, the Ngorongoro Crater, is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and the first sight of it is breathtaking. The floor of the crater is only 100 sq miles but is home to around 30,000 animals with a high concentration of predators.
